A glimpse to the ‘under-construction’ InterGames Virtual Learning Lab
In recent months, the InterGames project partners have been involved to build the Virtual Learning Lab, a learning space for teachers on the three pillars of the project: interdisciplinarity, gamification and conflict.
The Virtual Learning Lab is about to take shape and at this stage we defined the skeleton by identifying themes and priorities. Each partner then worked on the construction of specific content and the development of simple gamification to test learning.
Are you curious on what you will find in the Virtual Learning Lab of the InterGames project?
Here are some spoilers…
– what we mean by interdisciplinary education, why it is important and what are the main European reference documents relevant to the project. You will also learn more about the key competences that the interdisciplinary approach helps to develop in secondary school students.
– Thanks to the research carried out in the project and other resources, teachers will be able to analyse the main similarities and differences in European curricula with regard to interdisciplinarity, and also find concrete indications on how to apply interdisciplinarity in a simple way and promote collaboration between teachers.
– You will get to the heart of the use of gamification in education by providing information on the role of technology and possible tools to be used. The content will help to find possible strategies for integrating technology in education by highlighting its benefits in terms of skills. Special attention will be paid to understanding how video games or other digital tools can make it easier to apply the interdisciplinary approach.
– Finally, there will be a specific focus on the use of video games for conflict resolution and the promotion of peace sustainability in secondary schools. Innovation and the promotion of the key competences of the 21st century will be the key words of this module that will close a truly rich and stimulating experience with facilitation techniques and evaluation of experiences in the educational context that will be very useful for teachers!
In addition to the content, the Virtual Learning Lab will include simple games to evaluate the skills acquired. In this way participating teachers will have the opportunity to experience gamification already in the training phase of the InterGames project before taking it to their students!
