VLL Navigation Guidelines
The InterGames Virtual Learning Lab (VLL), using the interactive Genially platform, is an innovative training resource tailored for secondary school teachers. The VLL features four engaging modules:
(1) Introduction to Interdisciplinary Education, which explains key concepts, global policies, and benefits of interdisciplinary teaching;
(2) Curriculum Comparisons, which explores similarities, differences, and integration strategies in five European countries (Austria, Cyprus, Italy, Romania, Sweden) and showcases a best-practice example of participative curriculum development;
(3) Gamification in Education, demonstrating how video games can foster learning and skill-building; and
(4) Conflict Resolution and 21st-Century Skills, which shows how Game-Based Education can support peacebuilding and emotional intelligence.
Each module takes approximately 30 minutes to complete and includes multimedia-rich slides featuring videos, infographics, and interactive content.
You will find interactive elements throughout, such as hidden information to uncover additional insights, links to related articles, and references for further exploration. If you click on the button in the very right of each slide you can reveal all additional information hidden in extra elements.
You are encouraged to explore the modules sequentially or independently, with clear navigation and prompts to guide you through the learning experience. The intuitive features of Genially make it easy to engage with the content and gain practical strategies for incorporating interdisciplinary and gamified approaches into your classrooms.
Micro-Challenges Navigation Guidelines
The Micro-Challenges, developed on the H5P platform, are gamified activities designed to complement and test the knowledge attained by the Virtual Learning Lab (VLL) by reinforcing and assessing the learning objectives of each module.
Aligned with the VLL’s content, these challenges provide an interactive way for you to test your understanding and deepen your engagement. Examples include quizzes, drag-and-drop tasks, interactive videos or branching scenarios, tailored to the themes and content of the four modules.
You can access the Micro-Challenges directly via embedded links at the end of each VLL module, ensuring a seamless and user-friendly experience.
Each Micro-Challenge includes clear instructions and immediate feedback, making navigation spontaneous. The Micro-Challenges’ engaging format encourages active learning, while their integration as VLL plugins ensures you can interact with them effortlessly within the broader learning journey.
Upon completion of all quests of each module, you will earn a module badge, boosting motivation and fostering a sense of achievement.
These activities are not only tools for evaluation but also serve as inspiration for you to integrate gamification into your teaching.
